When did the 2026/2027 season begin?

The draw took place on 5 August and the league started on 21 August 2026. The first phase is played as a single round-robin across the participating clubs.

How many clubs are involved?

The ORA League contains 20 clubs: Al Ittihad Alexandria, Al Ahly, National Bank, El Gouna, Zamalek, Al Masry, Al Sharqiya Enppi, Pyramids, ZED, Smouha, Ceramica Cleopatra, Tala’ea El Gaish, Modern Sport, Montakhab Suez Petrojet, Ghazl El Mahalla, Wadi Degla, Al Mokawloon, Abu Qir Fertilizers, Petroleum Assiut and Al Qanah.

How does the league format work?

During the first phase, every team plays the others once. The league then splits:

• Title and continental group: clubs finishing 1st to 6th.
• Survival group: teams placed 7th through last.

The top group competes for the championship and continental places, while the second group fights to stay up. Under the announced structure, four clubs are relegated at the end of the season.

Why use two phases?

The model creates clearer objectives in the second part of the campaign: the top six compete directly for the title and continental positions while the remaining sides enter a survival battle. Sixth place therefore carries particular importance at the end of the first phase.

Where was the season by Matchweek 5?

By mid-September the league had reached Matchweek 5. Several important results were already completed before the round had fully finished.
